Introducing the New Walden Book Club

First off, I want to apologize for not updating my blog recently. The problem is not for lack of material, if that’s what you’re thinking. Quite the opposite—I am overwhelmed with material. I think I have over 150 rough drafts waiting to be published right now. The times, they are a changin’, and faster than the speed of light. If you are a traditional Christian like me, you know what I mean. To venture into the blogosphere and social media feels like storming the beaches of Normandy.

But I think I have found the solution. I plan to shift my focus away from breaking new events like court decisions, protests, bombings, and the daily burning of Christians at the stake. Instead, the focus will be on a discussion of books that I think are important. This way, I can still say everything I need to say, but without the need to be reacting to news events. The problem right now is that conservatives like me are so busy reacting to the news that we don’t have any time to make the news. There is a news agenda out there, and it is very definitely anti-Christian.

So, today I am inaugurating this new program by announcing the start of the New Walden Book Club. I will be running the club from this website and from Goodreads.com. Here is a video to introduce the club. What I lack in style I make up for in substance. 😉 Please think about joining us. We are reading If You Can Keep It by Eric Metaxas. JG
