In my upcoming post, I talk about the soaring rates of mental illness in the LGBT community. As I point out in my book, neuroscientific research shows that spiritual practices promote mental health. This means that poor mental health in the gay community could point to a poor spiritual life—not shocking news to any faithful Christian. For what science is just discovering now, the Church has faithfully taught for 2,000 years.
